The SKC Bookstore is owned and operated by Salish Kootenai College for the benefit of the academic community and surrounding areas. The SKC Bookstore carries a large selection of the Salish Kootenai Press Books, Salish & Kootenai Language materials, class and office supplies, SKC memorabilia, imprinted clothing and gifts, greeting cards, snack foods, and other miscellaneous items.

Ordering Textbooks

Visit the link below to view course materials and make your textbook purchases.

In purchasing bookstore items, students must be familiar with the following procedures:

  • Payment may be made in cash, check, or credit card (MasterCard and Visa) with proper identification.
  • All charges must be pre-approved by the SKC Business Office.
  • The last day for student charges is the same day as the last day to add a course (see current quarter schedule). 
  • All returns must have a receipt.

Before you Order

  • Start thinking about ordering your textbooks early
  • If you are unsure of which textbooks you need for a particular course contact your advisor or success coach for assistance.
  • If you have used a charge slip to purchase textbooks in the past, see the business office so you may get a voucher set up
  • The bookstore staff are here to assist you; stop on in

A guide for buying textbooks

On this page you will find links titled “Find & Buy Textbooks Here.” These will take you to the online bookstore.

Create an Account: Use your SKC student email address to create an account for the bookstore.

  1. Click "Order Your Materials": Select the current quarter and choose the appropriate "Site" based on your department (e.g., Education, English).
  2. Choose your Classes: Select the specific classes you're enrolled in, paying attention to the section numbers (e.g., English 101 0 01).
  3. View your Materials: Click "View Your Materials" to see the required textbooks for each class.
  • Used vs. New Books: Used books are cheaper but may have wear and tear. New books are in pristine condition.
  • Digital Options: E-books offer a cost-effective and portable alternative to physical textbooks.
  • Rental Option: Renting a textbook is ideal for courses where you won't need the book long-term.
  1. Review your Cart: Make sure you have selected the correct format and edition of each book.
  2. Choose your Delivery: You can have your books shipped to your home or the campus bookstore for free if your order is over $59.
  3. Payment Options: Pay with your debit or credit card, financial aid voucher, or scholarship code.
  4. Submit your Order: Once you've reviewed and confirmed your order details, click "Submit Order."

If you order digital content like an E-book, you can access it through your bookstore account homepage.

All textbook returns must be completed through the online store in the first two weeks of the quarter. Course materials must be returned within two weeks after class start date or within 21 days of the date they shipped, whichever is later. After the first two weeks, textbooks may be sold during textbook buyback the last day of the quarter: It is the responsibility of the student to obtain and keep receipts. Adding the #70 ensures that if your package gets sent to Pablo or Ronan post offices they will get it to the Bookstore without the addition they have to send your package back to the sender. 

This goes for all packages.
